Key Largo Fisheries

Sunny skies, salty air, and superior seafood

Anytime a coast is nearby, local seafood is a priority.  Driving from Miami to Key West, there is no shortage of outstanding options. Stumbling upon Key Largo Fisheries was fortuitous, simply due to hunger and impatience.

The Backyard Cafe at Key Largo Fisheries is an easygoing, waterfront oasis with seafood so fresh, every option could be the catch of the day.  The Hogfish sandwich is perfection.  The hogfish is expertly fried, the meat holding a sweetness that brings to mind the flavors of lobster and scallops. Topped with lettuce, tomato and sandwiched in a soft yet sturdy Kaiser bun, this sandwich brings the sunshine, palm trees, and breezy, ocean air vibes full circle to your taste buds.  Paired with a local Islamorada Channel Marker IPA, this may be the best sandwich/beer pairing in Florida.

It’s hard to not find amazing food in the Keys, the freshness and respectful approach to handling the products are part of what makes Key Largo Fisheries superior. A working marina, restaurant and market, it’s a place for all things seafood and all things good.  Sometimes, Impatience can cause people to do foolish things.  Key Largo Fisheries is not one of those things.
