Kitchen No. 324

Crullers, chicken, coffee, and smiles

324 N. Robinson in downtown Oklahoma City is home to one the best not-so-secret daytime spots in the city. Radiant and straightforward while still maintaining an unassuming charm, Kitchen No. 324 is consistently producing quality food that is creative and tasty.

The Giant Buttermilk Pancake is insane. There is no other way to describe it. Giant is underselling the size and thickness of this cake. This is a “cake” cake served with flavorful, thick syrup which, honestly, can be hard to find with pancakes. 324 may be most well known for the Fried Chicken Pot Pie. A pie with flaky, biscuit crust, perfectly cooked veggies, and the most creamy herbed sherry base is presented with a fried chicken leg shooting out of the top. This dish is as delicious as it is impressive. But….the real superstar at 324 is the Maple Cruller. This is the best pastry in Oklahoma City. Everything about this cruller is flawlessly executed. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, this airy pastry is eggier than a normal yeast or cake donut, it’s also better.

Oklahoma City is, thankfully, bursting at the seams with fabulous daytime spots. Kitchen No. 324 is bright, clean and at first glance, it looks a little lavish. The jewel toned green seats and smells of roasted coffee give a sense of warmth and comfort. Kitchen No. 324 knows what they’re good at, casual yet a smidge upscale daytime food…and they just keep getting better.
